Defina o relacionamento - Capítulo 21
Foi divertido por um tempo, mas agora era hora de voltar à realidade.
— Carlyle.
Kyle o chamou, como se não soubesse do que ele estava falando. Jonathan olhou para Kyle. Carlyle ignorou Kyle sem mudar sua expressão. Em vez disso, ele perguntou ao pai novamente.
— Você vai me dar sua permissão?
Jonathan esfregou a testa. E depois de soltar um suspiro profundo, pediu a Carlyle para confirmar o que ele acabou de dizer.
— Você já escolheu um noivo?
— Sim, eu escolhi entre alguns nomes selecionados por meu avô. Havia algumas pessoas que eu conhecia.
Carlyle relatou sua decisão, como se estivesse fazendo um negócio. Jonathan olhou para ele como se algo estivesse terrivelmente errado.
— Vamos falar sobre isso depois.
— Falarei com meu avô quando o ver na próxima semana.
—…Faça o que quiser com essa casa.
Jonathan disse. Embora parecesse preocupado, Carlyle sabia que seu pai não iria se opor a ele.
Nem Jonathan, nem Alice, nem Carlyle jamais expressaram qualquer preocupação em seguir os conselhos de seu avô.
— Obrigado.
Mesmo que não pudesse vender a casa no final das contas, ele estava lentamente se preparando para deixar este lugar.
Carlyle saiu brevemente, usando a desculpa de fazer um telefonema. Era para dizer ao corretor da família que ele poderia fazer o trabalho como planejado. Kyle seguiu seus passos.
— Irmão, me deixe falar com você por um segundo.
Kyle agarrou o pulso de Carlyle. Era a primeira vez que Kyle o segurava dessa maneira. Carlyle olhou para ele surpreso.
— Estou te escutando.
— O que você quer dizer com noivado? E o Ash Jones?
Era uma pergunta esperada. Era doloroso até mesmo ouvir o nome dele, então ele deliberadamente evitou o assunto, mas Kyle não o deixou. Então Carlyle gentilmente removeu seu pulso e se virou.
— Não acho que essa pessoa tenha nada a ver com o meu noivado só porque me ajudou durante um tempo. Gostaria de agradecer a Nicholas separadamente, e de alguma forma presentear o Sr. Jones…
— Você não estava tentando sair com ele? Você gosta dessa pessoa.
Kyle agarrou Carlyle novamente. Carlyle parou na sala de estar, olhando para o pulso ainda agarrado. Quando acabou de falar com o corretor, pensou em dar uma ordem à secretaria para providenciar a abertura de uma nova linha telefônica.
— Kyle.
Carlyle agora pretendia apagar tudo relacionado a Ash.
— Isso não é da sua conta.
Com um movimento mais firme e abrupto do que antes, Carlyle puxou a mão. Para Ash, ele era apenas um Alfa arrogante e ridículo, com memórias desagradáveis e comportamento estranho. Ele não era um par adequado para Ash.
Foi assim desde o início. Os dois viviam em mundos muito diferentes. Incapaz de compreender sua realidade por um momento, Carlyle teve apenas um sonho além de suas possibilidades. Então ambos tiveram que retornar aos seus devidos lugares.

— É uma bela pintura…
Carlyle disse calmamente.
— Você também trabalhou duro para encontrá-la. — <i>A pessoa a quem ela realmente queria dar agora tinha partido.</i> — Se estiver tudo bem para você, gostaria que ficasse com ela.
Kyle e Nicholas apreciariam o valor cultural da pintura.
— Mas você já tem alguém para quem quer dar. Você tem que fazer isso, Carlyle.
— Kyle.
Seu amado irmão parecia querer uma resposta definitiva de Carlyle. Com uma cara de dor, como se estivesse se esfaqueando, Carlyle finalmente mudou um pouco a expressão e disse com determinação.
— Isso acabou.
Carlyle então balançou a cabeça para Kyle, que estava prestes a abrir a boca novamente, enquanto desviava o olhar da pintura.
— Nunca mais toque nesse assunto.
As estações estavam mudando. A vida de Carlyle sempre consistiu apenas em outono e inverno.
Temperaturas familiares, cores de baixa saturação, quietude silenciosa e ar parado. Seu coração, que finalmente retornou à sua estação familiar, afundou no frio e na solidão, semelhante à estação atual.
Esse era o tipo de solidão a que Carlyle precisava se acostumar novamente.

Um som foi ouvido. Ash, que ainda estava olhando pela janela, ouviu o chamado, mas ao mesmo tempo não ouviu. — Sinto muito. Fiquei pensando em algo por um momento.

Disse Mackenzie, sênior de Ash e fundador do estúdio. Seu cabelo loiro castanho cortado até o comprimento de suas orelhas era macio. Com um sorriso triste, Mackenzie olhou para Ash por um momento.

Enquanto todos os seus colegas dispersos saíam em uma atmosfera calorosa, Mackenzie cruzou os braços.
— O que deu em você esses dias?
— Em mim?
Desta vez, Ash ergueu as sobrancelhas como se estivesse intrigado. Então, com uma boca sorridente, ele falou novamente.
— Acho que não fiz nada de errado.
— Eu sei que você é um bastardo imundo que não comete erros. O que quero dizer, é por que você passou tanto tempo lá sentado olhando para o nada?
Nesse momento, ouviu-se o som das rodas da cadeira sendo arrastadas. Ash riu sem jeito. Então, ele deu de ombros como se estivesse em apuros, e logo olhou pela janela novamente. Algo o estava incomodando sem motivo aparente. Como se tivesse esquecido algo importante que não havia resolvido. Ele vinha se sentindo assim a um mês.
— Você age como se tivesse perdido algo importante.
McKenzie sempre foi uma pessoa inteligente. Sempre foi assim desde os dois dias em *São Martinho. Ash tinha aprendido muito vendo uma mulher como ela, que discutiria até mesmo com seus professores, desde que tivesse uma razão razoável e estivesse certa. E aprendeu com ela do trabalho até a maneira de expor.

No entanto, era muito difícil fingir na frente de alguém como Mackenzie. Ash Jones era alguém que não gostava de mostrar seu lado nervoso e triste. Ele tinha que manter aquele personagem que havia criado desde a infância.

Não era necessariamente um comentário que provocava culpa, mas McKenzie parecia se desculpar. E enquanto arrumava o próprio cabelo, Mackenzie disse:
— Graças a isso, tive que substituí-lo porque você estava trabalhando em um projeto já existente.
— Porque aqui todos são iguais.
O tempo gasto no estudo foi semelhante. Apenas a intensidade do trabalho era diferente. Mackenzie que estava na frente dele também ficou presa no escritório com pouco tempo para estar em casa. E mesmo quando chegava em casa, continuava trabalhando.
A mesma coisa aconteceu com Ash. Ele andava muito ocupado ultimamente. De fato, seu estúdio, que tendia a buscar projetos inovadores,tinha um projeto difícil de realizar.

Era melhor ir para casa e descansar numa hora dessas. Mesmo que geralmente fosse à galeria para recuperar o fôlego, não tinha vontade de ver uma exposição naquele momento.
Enquanto pensava nisso, Ash apenas caminhou. E como sempre, ele nem prestou atenção nos olhares que o encaravam persistentemente. Foi depois de encontrar as costas de alguém que os passos que estavam andando em linha reta de repente pararam.
As costas retas e limpas, um terno anguloso, uma cintura fina e cabelos pretos bem penteados.
Quando o viu, não conseguiu pensar em nada. E antes que a razão o fizesse voltar a si, Ash alcançou o homem que caminhava. Os sapatos pararam com urgência. Ele sentiu uma pontada no peito, como se seu coração tivesse se contraído com tanta força, a ponto de não conseguir ver nada.
A distância foi reduzida em um instante. Ele alcançou o homem com um passo largo. Sua mão se estendeu involuntariamente. De fato, durante os poucos segundos que toda aquela ação durou…
— Carlyle.
Ele não pensou em nada. Sua mente inconsciente se moveu. Uma impaciência surgiu dentro dele. Sem perceber, sua mão agarrou a roupa do homem com muita força.
O homem que caminhava com passos firmes parou. E quando ele cambaleou um pouco com a força que o segurava por trás, o homem se virou.
Mas antes que pudesse olhá-lo no rosto, Ash percebeu que este homem não era Carlyle.
—…Quem é você?
O cheiro era diferente.
Era muito diferente dos feromônios de Carlyle. Os feromônios de Alfa, roçando constantemente seu nariz, não tinham nada em comum com os de Carlyle.
Não era o aroma sutil que podia sentir quando aproximava o nariz da pele clara e respirava fundo. Embora parecesse uma flor sem cheiro, tinha um cheiro de lavanda, que só podia ser sentido de perto.
— Sinto muito, — disse Ash.
Ash afastou a mão. Um sorriso perfeito que parecia desenhado, pendia em seu rosto. O homem que olhou para trás com um olhar de desgosto e constrangimento relaxou sua expressão ao ver o sorriso gentil.
Sua rejeição como Alfa e a boa impressão de uma pessoa à primeira vista pareciam colidir, mas o homem balançou a cabeça como se estivesse bem.
— Está bem. Você me confundiu com outra pessoa?
O homem parecia mais jovem que Carlyle. Após uma inspeção mais detalhada, suas roupas também não eram como os ternos feitos à mão que Carlyle usava. Era um terno que podia ser encontrado na Liverpool Street ou na Bank Station. Seu corpo e seu rosto eram bem diferentes.

Ignorando a tentativa do homem de acrescentar palavras, Ash passou por ele. Então, ele não pôde deixar de rir alto, enquanto tentava desabotoar lentamente a gola de sua camisa azul, que já havia sido desabotoada.

A caminho de casa, Ash pensou em algo. Mas ao contrário do que aconteceu na sala de conferências, desta vez foi uma ideia com um objetivo claro.
A primeira coisa que veio à mente foram olhos calmos. O homem era a pessoa mais calma que Ash já conhecera. Não conseguia se lembrar de ouvi-lo falar sobre histórias do dia-a-dia chatas, que a maioria dos outros faziam. Ele nem sequer o ouviu reclamar de seu trabalho. Ainda assim, o homem sempre respondia as perguntas Ash.
Com muita sinceridade.
Com um sotaque elegante e uma voz agradável que nunca ouvira ao seu redor, o homem sempre lhe respondia com seriedade. Ele mudou de um momento, também parou de responder com respostas curtas. O número de palavras, o conteúdo e as palavras devolvidas às questões colocadas aumentaram pouco a pouco. E logo, essas palavras se transformaram em belas frases.
Mas mesmo depois de ouvir aquela onda de palavras, ele ainda não sabia nada sobre o homem. O que ele faz, como se sente hoje, o que pensa além daquele rosto inexpressivo. Não sabia quase nenhuma dessas respostas.
O homem ficou em silêncio, como se fosse neve empilhada sem fazer barulho. Ele apenas olhou para Ash com olhos cinza tranquilos, como as cinzas que sutilmente flutuam.
Ash pensou que tinha descoberto muito sobre as coisas que ele gostava, mas quando tentou pensar mais profundamente, não conseguia se lembrar de muita coisa. Nunca tinha parado para ouvir o que Carlyle realmente queria. Então, ele teve um pensamento repentino.
‘Eu deveria… deveria ter feito mais perguntas’.
A próxima coisa que lhe veio à mente foram seus lábios. Lábios finos que ficam vermelhos quando beijados. O homem era tão desajeitado que era difícil acreditar que ele era uma pessoa que falava as palavras ‘relações sexuais’ e falava sobre a frequência e dias para tais relações. Ele também, era incrivelmente sexy.
Ash também não esperava que ele seria capaz de fazer tais expressões. ‘Quando aquele rosto frio derretia no calor, quão sexy ele ficava…’ se ele não tivesse feito sexo com aquele homem, não ousaria adivinhar.
Seus lábios tremeram levemente enquanto misturavam suas línguas mais profundamente. Olhando para a língua que o seguia hesitante, parecia que ele era bom em beijar, mas quando Ash tocou o céu da boca e cavou fundo, seus lábios se contraíram como se ele estivesse recebendo seu primeiro beijo.

Ele sentia isso, apesar de já ter saído com tantas pessoas. Foi a primeira vez que ele ouviu alguém gemer de forma tão atraente.
‘Tão lindo’.
Ash sorriu enquanto esfregava os lábios e deu um passo para trás, então se virou, e saiu andando.
‘Se tivéssemos nos conhecido normalmente e começado a namorar sem complicações, eu provavelmente teria me apaixonado rapidamente por ele… é tão fofo’.
No entanto, algo imediatamente voltou para assombrá-lo quando sentiu que as coisas estavam avançando lentamente. O homem claramente traçou uma linha antes mesmo do início do relacionamento.
“Espero que não haja sentimentos desnecessários”.
O comentário rude do homem foi arrogante e correto ao mesmo tempo. Não era fácil se envolver com alguém que tratava os sentimentos como indesejados. Era muito exaustivo. No entanto, embora Ash pudesse entender o que o homem disse, também era verdade que isso o incomodava muito.
‘Faz parte da cultura de um nobre se sentir superior aos outros?’ Ele o encarou em silêncio, virou a cabeça inexpressivamente e conversou com Nick, como se Ash não estivesse ali. Naquela época ele não conseguia entender por que aquele cara tinha concordado em sair com ele. Estava zangado com Carlyle desde o início. Isso por si só era uma exceção para Ash.
Ele não conseguia se lembrar de alguma vez ter ficado tão zangado com alguém. Apesar de já ter tido vários amantes, Ash sempre foi uma pessoa que concordava com tudo, antes que uma briga começasse. Ele sempre foi muito paciente. Quando realmente precisava conversar, ele conversava calmamente sobre o conflito. E dificilmente ficava com raiva no processo.
Houve apenas uma vez em que ficou realmente com raiva quando era criança. Mas mesmo assim, Ash não mostrou suas emoções cruas. Porque estava tudo acabado.
Mas Carlyle continuou deixando-o nervoso. Carlyle foi a primeira pessoa que não sorriu de volta para ele, inclusive disse coisas rudes a uma pessoa que só o tinha visto duas vezes. Foi difícil equilibrar o relacionamento.
Não estavam namorando, mas apenas fazendo sexo. Ash simplesmente não sabia como lidar com um homem que nunca namorou um Alfa, e que também estava recebendo o membro de um homem por trás pela primeira vez.
Então ele agiu como sempre fez. O problema era a categoria a que esse comportamento pertencia.
Fazer algo que só faria em um encontro, com alguém com quem não se pode envolver dessa maneira… Como definir esse relacionamento?
O tempo passou enquanto ele refletia sobre o assunto conclusivo. O homem aceitou fielmente a reunião. Depois de dois ou três encontros, foi possível ter uma ideia da outra pessoa até certo ponto, mas o homem ainda não havia mudado sua expressão.
Ash continuou tentando alcançar o outro homem. Então seus lábios bem fechados se abriram ligeiramente. Ele exalou seu hálito quente e soltou um gemido estridente, que poderia facilmente deixar outras pessoas atordoadas. E finalmente, lentamente, o homem disse algo que ele não ouviria a menos que estivessem na cama.
Provavelmente foi quando tudo mudou.
Carlyle, que ficou atordoado com o RUT, ligou para Ash. Como se tivesse perdido completamente a razão, uma das pessoas que atrapalhou o relacionamento com o Nick, ligou para Ash primeiro.
Carlyle, pediu a Ash que fosse até ele em um tom de voz extremamente baixo. Em um tom respeitoso ainda que precário, Ash procurou Carlyle, apesar da complexidade de suas emoções.
Então, ele deliberadamente preparou um lubrificante e segurou loucamente Carlyle, que o olhou como se implorasse por ajuda. Ash o abraçou como se o RUT vinhesse de si e não de Carlyle.
Carlyle, que estava atordoado, não parecia se sentir bem, mas se outra pessoa tivesse visto, ele teria agido assim?
Ainda não estava claro para ele quem Carlyle realmente era, mas Ash agora sabia que o homem era muito atraente. Suas orelhas, seu pescoço,o clavícula reta, a dobra de seu peito levemente abaulado, a maciez na parte interna de seu pulso, seus tornozelos, as coxas e todas as partes que compunham o corpo de Carlyle Frost eram lindos e muito sensuais.
Se Carlyle fosse seu amante, certamente Ash teria deixado marcas em todo o corpo dele. Ele tinha um corpo tão delicioso que os lábios de Ash queriam devorá-lo.
No entanto, Ash reprimiu habilmente a ganância crescente, bem como seu instinto. Eles não se viam a um mês, e não havia razão para um homem como Carlyle encontrá-lo depois de tudo.
Quando Carlyle lhe disse que não precisava de nenhuma emoção desnecessária entre eles, Ash se lembrou do único nobre que conhecia. Embora os dois tivessem personalidades opostas, também sabia que os aristocratas tinham seu próprio círculo social.
Se Carlyle não tivesse dito isso, certamente Ash não teria o abraçado até o fim.
“Por favor… fique ao meu lado… um pouco mais.”
Se ao menos Carlyle não tivesse dito isso antes de adormecer.
“Sinto muito não ter sido de muita ajuda”.
Se não tivesse lhe dito baixinho, olhando para ele com um rosto que de alguma forma chamou sua atenção.
“Quero dizer, eu nunca namorei ninguém.”
Se ao menos não tivesse dito mais isso.
“Eu nunca beijei uma pessoa mais de duas vezes.”
Se não fosse pelas palavras e ações doces de Carlyle, certamente ele teria encarado o dia de forma casual e indiferente.
Mas não conseguiu. Com o passar do tempo, Carlyle disse e fez coisas que ele não esperava.
Quando notou o rosto escultural frio e inorgânico, parecendo vivo, Ash entendeu uma passagem da mitologia romana:
‘A luz branca fria gradualmente se transformou em uma luz branca quente. Como se estivesse viva.’
Como uma flor que desabrocha lentamente, os lábios de Carlyle se soltaram pouco a pouco. E, finalmente, no dia em que sua boca bem fechada se transformou em um sorriso deslumbrante, Ash se perdeu com aquela bela visão.
Ash Jones adorava coisas bonitas. E ele tinha visto inúmeras coisas bonitas em sua vida. Mas o sorriso do homem que Ash testemunhou naquele dia foi de longe a coisa mais linda que já viu. Ele não conseguia desviar os olhos daquele rosto bonito.
Então sua curiosidade cresceu. Mesmo evitando de se envolver em assuntos complicados, as ações do homem, que lhe pediu para evitar sentimentos desnecessários, o inundaram imediatamente.
‘Por que você sorriu para mim?’
‘Por que você disse que queria me ver?’
‘Por que você odeia que eu mencione outros Alfas?’
‘Carlyle, você gosta de mim?’
Havia muitas coisas aqui e ali que o confundiam. Mas ao contrário do que Ash esperava, a resposta que veio rapidamente, o jeito como se comportou, os olhos vermelhos que explodiram em lágrimas, tudo isso confundiu ainda mais Ash.
Porque todas as ações de Carlyle entravam em contradição como no dia em que ele lhe disse que não queria se envolver romanticamente com Ash.
Foi a primeira vez que conhecia alguém tão difícil. Com o passar do tempo, ficou confuso pela forma com que Carlyle silenciosamente aceitava seu toque, e pouco tempo depois voltava a olhar para ele com um rosto inexpressivo. Era difícil entendê-lo.
Mas seu rosto sorridente era diferente.
Vendo o homem olhando para ele com seus olhos finamente curvados, Ash sentiu um desejo insuportável. Queria saber o que diabos ele estava pensando. Embora soubesse que não era certo perguntar isso a ele.
Mesmo depois de ter se despedido, Ash se lembrou do Carlyle, que ainda estava sorrindo. Sua aparência calma continuou atraindo sua atenção.
No dia em que recebeu a mensagem de texto de Carlyle que parecia ter algo a lhe dizer, Ash também queria fazer as perguntas sobre as quais estava tão curioso. <span style=”font-weight:400;”>Ele queria perguntar o que o homem achava dele. O caos interior em Ash só iria se acalmar quando essa questão fosse sanada.
Mas quando Carlyle chegou, nem deu tempo para Ash fazer uma pergunta. Em vez disso, ele pronunciou palavras inesperadas. O homem sempre esteve além das expectativas de Ash, então não foi uma surpresa. …
“Gostaria de te dizer que não precisamos nos reunir na próxima semana…”
Mesmo assim, não pôde deixar de se sentir estranhamente ofendido quando o ouviu. Ash olhou para o rosto de Carlyle como se procurasse por algo.
Mas ele não conseguiu encontrar nada. O sorriso escondido em sua expressão fria havia desaparecido, sem deixar vestígios. Isso o deixou muito confuso.
‘Então, isso é tudo?’
Ash riu. Ele também parecia um pouco irritado. Quando Carlyle disse que viria buscá-lo para lhe dizer alguma coisa, nunca imaginou que essas seriam as palavras que ouvira.
Honestamente, Ash não tinha motivos para ficar bravo com as palavras de Carlyle. Mas, Ash também tinha um problema.
Porque a relação que começou como um favor, de alguma forma se transformou em um relacionamento em que se envolveu sem se dar conta.
